GENUINE WORLD WAR II JAPANESE SWORD I'm by no means am an expert on swords. But is what I know about what I have. Actually I have two of these swords. But I'm keeping one of them. They are exactly alike. I inherited both swords from my dad. He passed away 15 years ago and I have had them hanging on my wall just as decorations ever since. All I can tell you is what I remember him telling me about these swords. Dad was a sargeant in WWII and on the front line infantry row. Needless to say, he witnessed a lot of death. Anyway, he got these swords off of the deceased. So they have been used in battle. And I guess I don't need to say anymore than that. That fact might upset some people but just the same I think ya'll need to know. At this time I'm not putting a "brand name" on the sword (as I see other sellers doing and I have been educated on the fact that t is a lot of imitations of these swords); but I'm sure that if you are interested in buying this sword, you probably know more about it than I do. But I can tell you this: it is the real thing! The blade is 26 1/2" from knotch to tip. It has some faults like: the silk on the handle has a couple places of fraying (it is shown in the pictures); the blade has been in oil the whole time it has been in the sheath - so no rust. It has nicks and peeling of "coating", (mostly on the sheath)
