Up for bid is a 100% authentic WWII German M35 DD huge size 68 field overpainted American vet bring back helmet. This helmet is a no doubter and has a ton of character. The helmet retains approximately 90% of it's field overpainted finish with some areas of the original apple green finish peeking out through chips and worn areas of the helmet. T also appear to be two decals hiding under the overpaint as well. I can see some silver decal peeking through on on side and a bit of white on the other. The side skirt of the helmet is stamped with NS68, and the rear skirt is stamped with the lot number of E114. The helmet also retains it's original liner and chinstrap. The liner has nine fingers and is a bit dry in areas. The liner has the original drawstring and three of the fingers have torn ends (see pics). The aluminum liner band and chinstrap have a very cool and certainly period done field repair (see pics). A section of the liner band holding one of the square chinstrap holders had broken off, and the soldier took a small section of rope and fastened the end of the chinstrap to the liner band. The chinstrap is complete. The aluminum liner band has a few cracks and the area of loss mentioned. It can be assumed that this helmet was worn for a good portion of the war and is not a gem mint helmet, but certainly has everything going for it that you want to see in a real combat worn German WWII helmet. The helmet was brought back by a Cincinnati area ETO veteran and is 100% guaranteed authentic for life. Winner to please add $12.00 shipping in the United States. I accept checks, money orders, and paypal. Thanks for looking and please be sure to view my other eBay listings for more original early miltary, WWII, and vet bring back items. Thanks ATTN EBAY: This listing totally complies to ALL of your guidelines in regard to listing such an item. The helmet is shown from ALL angles, and does not feature ANY forbidden symbols.
