Ten x 7 x 3 1/2-inch old wooden box was a store display for Hiram Sibley and Co's. Choice Flower Seeds, Rochester, N.Y. and Chicago. Inner lid colorful original paper label shows a collection of pretty posies, plus the inscription that each "paper" (seed pack) was 5 cents each, and the box was 50 cents (!), for a total of $9.50. Box is good and tight dovetail construction with fairly tight original hinges and an old latch. Latches caught a glare in this picture; they look old to me but what do I know. Front of box still has a tattered but presentable old paper label; no labels ever were present on the other three sides or the top. Old seed boxes such as this look nifty, scattered about a country kitchen; also have uses as hankie cases in the bedroom or bric-a-brac containers in the bathroom. Packing and shipping of $12 includes mandatory insurance, any overpayment will be refunded.
