ZIPPO LIGHTER This lighter belonged to my late husband whose career was in oil, both United States and abroad and I am sure he picked this lighter up in his work. You can tell it was a favorite because it does show use and has a pin-sized ding on the front which shows in the pictures. I do not know if it works -- it has been in a drawer for several years. The lighter is silver; the front shows an oil rig and says: RED ADAIR WILD WELL CONTROL HOUSTON, TEXAS The back of the lighter says: 713/464-0230 TELEX 762-125 The bottom of the lighter says ZIPPO and Bradford, PA I found information about Red Adair f rom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Paul Neal "Red" Adair (June 18, 1915 – August 7, 2004 [3 ][ 4] [5 ]) was an American oil well firefighter . He became world notable as an innovator in the highly specialized and extremely hazardous profession of extinguishing and capping blazing, erupting oil well blowouts , both land-based and offshore .Adair was born in Houston, Texas , the son of an immigrant Irish blacksmith, [6 ] and attended Reagan High School .
