Christmas Candy"I love those tins of hard Christmas candy. The candy seems to come in all different colors and shapes....lots of red and white ones included. It seems that it can take me forever just to choose the one I want! This ornament, with it's gingham, red and white fabrics really reminds me of "Christmas Candy"! I put this one together a bit differently than previous ones and it has a little bit more of a kaleidoscope or starburst effect. It also has a different color combination on each side. Very, very pretty and Christmasy! This beautiful "quilted" Christmas ornament is made with about 150 separate pieces of hand cut fabric in different shades and patterns of red and white. The pieces are then very carefully assembled to produce this stunning starburst, kaleidoscope. The edges of each assembled piece is then hand painted(mock embroidery),( I pretend it is gold and silver thread...) the ornaments then really reflect light with out taking away the beauty of the different patterned fabric. Some of the fabric used in these one of a kind ornaments is vintage and from my private stash of over 35 years. Each ornament takes 8 hours to produce..this is a conservative figure.
