Red Wing Cookie Jar manufactured in the 1940'sby Red Wing Pottey of Red Wing. As identified on page 153 of the "Red Wing Pottery Identification and Value Guide, Book II," by B.L. and R.L. Dollen, Collector Books, Paducah, KY, 1998, this cookie jar has no bottom mark. The plant ceased production and closed in 1967. This jar is a very nice glazed blue and measures 8 inches tall and 8 inches wide handle to handle. It is 6 inches across the top. The base is 6 1/8 inches wide. The lid measures 5 inches wide and has a 1 1/4 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall knob. T are some manufacturing flaws in the glaze, one small miss at the rim as shown in the photograph. No chips or cracks. This cookie jar is rare and hard to find. Great addition to a Red Wing or cookie jar collection.
