Super rare bottom signed Minnesota Stoneware Co., Red Wing 5# butter crock, advertising from Champeny Creamery Co., Fancy Butter, Sussex, Wis., large oval stamped in the reddish brown ink!!!! I have been collecting butter crocks for 25 years and I can remember seeing only 1 other like it and it had damage and still sold for $1,000.00. The markings are slightly weak, but hard to be too nit-picky on a crock this rare. Condition is near mint, minor base flake in the back side, no other chips, hairlines, crows, repairs, etc. This crock probably belongs in the museum, once in a lifetime opportunity to own a really rare piece of Red Wing.
