MINES DEPARTMENT: Inrush of Water at the REDDING COLLIERY, Falkirk, Stirlingshire. REPORT. On the Causes of and Circumstances attending the Inrush of Water, which occurred at the Redding Colliery, etc. On the 25th SEPTEMBER 1923. By Sir Thomas H. Mottram. Presented to parliament by Command of His Majesty. Pub by HMSO, London. 1924. This 30 + page official report was owned by the Manager Mr John Purdie of No 23 Colliery at this mine. There are 5 large diagram elevation plans of the various layouts and where the damage occurred. The Secretary of Mines at this time was Emanuel Shinwell. There were over 50 lives LOST and a foreman of the levels which were affected who was a hero and died saving lives.
