Hello
I am selling a large handled cheese strainer. Made of heavy stoneware probably a sewer tile piece maybe redware.
My grandmother said they used to line it with cloth, fill with new cheese and hang it inside the well house.
The handle and rim is hand applied, oneside of handle has what looks like a thumbprint in the glaze, and the holes were put in by hand not machine to random.
Has a brown glaze with just a hint of red.
The only marking is a number ; 6 impressed in the rim on one side. See first photo.
Measurements are; 16 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches wide ,the walls are 1/2 inch thick. Weighs 11.4 pounds.
Condition is very good. with no cracks or chips.
Shipping will be actual cost mail U.S. added to final bid. Also if you think the ebay calculator is high please email with zip code and can send actual cost.
