REED & BARTON 9 - 9 0/8" modern hollow knife short of being nine 6-piece place settings with extra teaspoons and spreaders, plus some very nice servers to show you what a savings this is, Replacements Inc. asks $179.50 for a 5-piece setting of Silver Sculpture, which becomes approximately $200.00 for one 6-pc setting and $1800.00 for nine when the extra knife is added to that $2000.00, add the five servers offered , which would cost another $230.00; then add the extra flatware included which would cost another $225.00 total is $2550.00 and same components would come from various previously owned sets with uneven wear and uneven weight for like pieces (yes, a piece of sterling will invariably weigh more in the early years of production than the same piece manufactured in later years; same for crystal--take an older Waterford water goblet, for example, and compare it with the same piece produced recently-- the weight difference will knock your sox off) so, top quality, consistently excellent condition*, and quite a price break -- these all are compelling reasons why you should buy this Reed & Barton set, and make me look good in the eyes of my very wise sister *it may be splitting hairs, but one salad fork is very slightly out of round; otherwise, the set is in top shape with perhaps one dozen times used per piece terms of sale
