This auction is for a beautiful and collectible Reed & Barton Compote Bowl in the pattern or design of Francis I. The origins of Reed and Barton can be traced back to the early 1820's. In 1907, after working on the design for three years, Reed & Barton released their most popular pattern, Francis I. Reed & Barton has a well deserved reputation for elaborate intricate designs and superb craftsmanship. This is sure to be a wonderful addition to any collection! This compote is marked "Reed & Barton, Sterling, x 568, Francis I"(shown in photo) It stands 4 1/2" tall by 7 5/8" wide and weighs 12 troy ounces. T is no monogram and no monogram removal. This compote is in carefully used condition. T are no dents, or irregularities. This bowl will need to be cleaned as it has been in storage for some time.
