This is a Reed & Barton 46-Piece Sterling Silver Flatware Set in the Grande Renaissance Pattern. We have owned this set since 1975, and we have used it only on a few special occasions, and always very gently. Every beautiful piece of this set is in excellent condition.
The 46 pieces consist of the following: 8 five-piece place settings, each consisting of a dinner knife, a dinner fork, a salad fork, a soup spoon, and a tea spoon. (Note: the newer sets in this Grande Renaissance pattern include a soup spoon with an oval bowl, was our soup spoons--as you can see in the photos--feature the classic round bowl.) 1 five-piece hostess (serving) set, consisting of a serving spoon, a pierced serving spoon, a serving fork, a (shell) sugar spoon, and a butter spreader (knife). 1 pie and cake server (with a stainless blade). All of these pieces come in the wooden storage chest pictured. (The chest is a bit scratched up on the outside, but is in good sound serviceable condition.) In an effort to determine what this set would cost new today, I did some research online and discovered the following: Reed & Barton offers this set (minus the cake server) on their website () for a special current price of $5018.00 (reduced from their suggested retail of $6268.00). Replacements Ltd. , which you can visit at , can put all 46 pieces of silverware together, piece by piece, for $2356.00. A seller on has a similar new set (with the wooden chest, but without the cake server) for $3150.00. I believe I am offering this at the best price you will ever find for this beautiful classic set. I can accept Pay Pal, cashier's check/money order, personal check (this can be slow), and cash (generally appropriate only for in-person local pick up).
