Offered is an outstanding piece of ''Southern Pacific Railroad'' dining car history. What I am offering , for your consideration is a beautiful and rare Southern Pacific silver plated butter icer & matching lid. Now, what really stands out on this piece is two crsets (Sunset logo) of which is dead center on the lid and on the side of the butter icer's bowl. Both logos are outstanding and stand out. But also, yes, more, the top piece piece is also bottom marked '' Southern Pacific''. Three RR marks on this wonderful well taken care of Southern Pacific dining car silver. The butter icer lid itself measures 4 5/8 x 3. The bottom butter bowl measures a little over 2'' inches. Height * entire piece measures close to 1 1/4 and looks just great. Oh, by the way the lid fits tightly. The manufacturer of this set was made by Reed & Barton O147 - h. The lid is the same with matching numbers. Believe me, you would be hard pressed to find a better matching set in excellent condition with only moderate dining car usage. This silver would have been used in conjunction with the railroads colorful dining car china, mainly Sunset and Prairie Mountain Wildflowers. A great display piece for the SP collector!!!.
