Regency TR-7 EarlyTransistor Radio 1958 Regency ( Regency Division I.D.E.A.Inc. 7900 Pendleton Pike Indianapolis 26 Indiana This early Regency transistor radio is complete and still in nice condition. The plastic on the sides and back do show some wear. I took pictures in bright light as well as what the radio looks like in normal light to show the wear to the case.None of the scratches or wear are deep nor do I seen any chips or cracks in the radio. There are no dents or dings in the speaker grill or metal checkerboard brass backing behind the control knobs. There is very slight wear on the lettering or numbers on the station selector knob or on the Regency Brand All Transistor gold lettering. I tested the radio with 3 AA batteries and at first got nothing at all. There is some corrosion on one of the battery terminals where the battery connects. I cleaned some of it off and got some static however there is considerable corrosion on the back of the battery holder where the wires join (not at the actual terminal connection) and it could be at least part of the problem of picking up stations.There is a repair sticker on the inside of the case dated 1960 and one of the terminals for the batteries is different than the others so perhaps this was or is part of the problem with the radio reception.
