Fine example of the type of reliquary crucifix worn by Catholic Nuns. It measures 4 inches long and is inlaid with what appears to be rosewood. The metal is silver in color (not sterling) with the corpus looking like bronze perhaps. It has an inside compartment w another cross is housed with the names of various saints. S. Ant Pat (Saint Anthony of Padua?) S. Thomas Aq (Saint Thomas of Aquinas) S. Cath Sen (Saint Catherine of Siena?) S. Stanis Kost (Saint Stanislaus Kostka... Polish jesuit, died at 17) S. Teres Pl (Saint Teresa of Avila?). The back is red with a wax stamp and threads coming out of the wax. I also have a larger example listed Saint Francis of Assisi.
