REMINGTON Fighting TRENCH KNIFE 1913 Enfield BAYONET US Description Presented for auction is an early cut down bayonet made by Remington. It has a nice sheath or scabbard. The scabbard has letters and numbers on the rim of the throat. This bayonet was made into a fighting knife or trench knife most likely by a soldier. Dated 1913 also has a 1 and 17 under the date and the Remington Mark. The other side has a C1 or CL over an A and a crown and a crown with a roof above it. The pommel is stamped MAN 259. Knife measures approx. 12 1/4" with a 7 1/2" blade. Overall length is 16". Overall in good condition. The spring clip is missing. I think this bayonet is for a British Enfield Rifle and was also used by US Troops.
