RareRepeating Clock Watch Movement By Peter Wise, London This rare clock watchmovement has rack striking, tapered round pillars with coronet tops and engraved barrel for clock watch side. It has a beautifully pierced and engraved cock with birds and foliage. It is fusee verge, the balance swings, ticks and stops – it could do with a clean. Everything complete barring: in the motion work the hour snail is there but a part of the arm that connects to the hours is missing. Rack release is from cannon pinion leaf. This also works, releases rack and works but does not count the hours correctly. A single hammer and some nice steel work which could all do with some polishing. No dial or dial plate. Approximate date: very late 1600s to very early 1700s Approximate dimensions: Back Plate 36mm Front Plate 40mm Depth including cock 15mm This is a special opportunity to acquire a rare movement by well respected maker. A reluctant sale, part of the workshop clearance. We have not certified this watch/movement for timing accuracy. Please note that despatch costs shown are intended to be a guide .
