This is one pair (2) of reproduction knee garters made from sections of mule harness purchased in Ohio. each garter is approximately 17 1/8 inches long. The garters fasten at the sides with brass buckles which measure: 1 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inches high. Each garter has a triangle or 'tab' of black bear fur added to the piece; made to hang down in the front of the knee as decoration. These tabs measure 3 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches long. The garters have five adjustment holes, spaced approximately one inch apart. These are a tough pair of garters which have a lot of 'miles' left in them. They show the effects of several years of 'historical trekking' and are well broken-in; but they are in very good condition. They will make a very nice addition to any 'living history' outfit which includes leggins or trousers which may require 'garters'.
