Roman Republic, 275-270 BC, anonymous bronze litra of 19.3 mm, 10.26 grams.

Obverse. Female head r.

Reverse: ROMANO, Lion r.

Reference: Crawford 16/1b.

Ex. RBW purchased from Schulten 10/18/1989 for $102. RBW's envelope and notations are included.

The famous RBW collection of Roman Republican Coins was auctioned by Numismatic Ars Classica, Zurich, on 10/5-6/2011 and 5/17/2012. According to the late Roberto Russo in his introduction to the first RBW catalog, "RBW has always represented the sensitive, refined and intelligent world of collecting of the second half of the 20th Century."
