Republic gold 500 Bolivares 1975 Gem UNC, KM-Y54. A phenomenal offering, this undisputed key to the modern Venezuelan series was struck to commemorate the nationalization of the oil industry, and presents effulgent, golden surfaces that promote razor-sharp devices. Featuring a minuscule mintage of only 100 pieces, it is quite possible that only a fraction of that number survived due to "accidental melting" that occurred over the coming years. For reference, we sold an equally spectacular piece in our New York Signature Sale of this year that hammered at $26,000.
