Presentation pipe given to a missionary. Catlinite bowl with wooden stem. Stem embellished with traditional dyed horsehair. The entire piece is approximately 20.5" long. Current owner purchased this pipe from a museum.

Inscription on stem reads: To Rev. John Mochridge D.D. From Jeof Beech Tuesday After Easter!

Inscription on the bottom of the bowl is not completely legible, but appears to say "Standing ....le"

Rev. Mochridge/Mockridge appears to have been affiliated with the Anglican Church in the Northeastern US and Canada around this middle of the nineteenth century:

T is some cracking/chipping on the front end of the bowl that appears to have been glued at one point. Please see closeup photos of bowl.

This is a rare hard-to-find collectible artifact which would make a great addition to any Native American enthusiast's collection.
