This is a large 19th century Crucifix with glass trade beads almost exactly like the one pictured above on the famous Sioux Indian Chief Sitting Bull. The Corpus or Christ looks to be brass or bronze. Similar to the one on Sitting Bull in the picture, that was given to him by Father De Smet a Jesuit Priest. The beads show alot of wear and age to them. The beads are all various sizes. The fur traders would also trade these crosses for furs and such. At the bottom t is a skull and crossbones which signify "Golgatha The Hill Of The Skull" w Christ was crucified. Thank you for looking and Happy Bidding
