RETIRED 2001 American Girl Lindsey Doll with box GRIL versionUp for auction is the 2001 Retired Limited Edition Girl of the Year: Lindsey Bergman, plus her book. She is one of the rare greenish/gray dolls with the misspelled tag that reads “American Gril,” which was a goof-up in some of the earlier version Lindsey dolls. The back of her neck is stamped Pleasant Company. Lindsey was introduced in the 2001 Holiday catalog and her items were available through December 2002. She has curly auburn hair, blue eyes and freckles. She is dressed in a green “Dogs” T-shirt and a khaki skirt. Her hooded sweater has contrasting stripes at the cuffs that match her striped tights. Lindsey has red ankle boots and a beaded bobby pin to hold back her bangs. I also purchased the Star of David necklace from American Girl, so she will arrive at your home with a new shiny necklace. Lindsey has been retired and with the exception of her book, all of her items are no longer available. I purchased her on E-Bay in January 2006, but have to downsize my American Girl collection, so she has to find a new home. When she first arrived I handwashed all her clothes and gave her a good scrubdown. During her time , she has been very loved and has lived in a smoke free environment.
