In 1992 t were only 3,000 Black Rhino roaming Eastern and Southern Africa. This is partly due to habitat destruction but the major cause has been poaching to satisfy the demand for the rhino horn, used in traditional Asian medicines and decorative dagger handles in the Middle East. From ground to shoulder the rhino measures 4 to 5 feet tall and weighs between 2,000 & 4,000 pounds, their life span is about 35-40 years.

Makes a great gift or a fantastic addition to your own Cardew Design collection.
