This is an absolutely wonderful limited edition collectible - a hard to find HAND PAINTED OLD WORLD SANTA - RAYMOND CLAUS from GALAPAGOS ISLANDS - 1995. Created by the well know artist, Lancy Smith from the original GREAT AMERICAN COLLECTIBLES, the Old World Santa series began in 1988.... Each Old World Santa represents a country, is given a name and has a story to tell. Raymond is one of a set of 4 created in 1995. Each Santa is made from an original wood carved mold and then cast in high quality resin giving it the traditional wood appearance. They are then hand painted. Each one is a limited edition collectible. This means each character is limited to a specific number of castings before retiring the mold. Let me introduce RAYMOND CLAUS from the GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. is his wonderful story: RAYMOND LIVES IN THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS WITH HIS PARROT ECHO. ECHO AND RAYMOND ARE VERY THANKFUL FOR THE BEAUTY OF ALL THE PLANTS, BIRDS AND ANIMALS THEY LIVE WITH AND DO ALL THEY CAN TO MAINTAIN THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF THEIR ISLANDS. Raymond Claus is beautifully handpainted and in excellent condition. No dings or cracks. He stands about 7-8" tall and is engraved on the back "RAYMOND © 1995 GATB LANCY."
