Original British BREXTON picnic wicker BASKET part SET contents Brexton cups saucers plates container vintage retro hamper Neat Size for TWO 1960s Description ♦ Hello there, thanks for looking-in .. PLEASE read all of the description & hope you find the following of interest ♦ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A vintage picnic set which was made for two people the wicker basket is Brexton, Made in England as shown on the label of board attached to the lid The set was like this when I came across it...... is not all original Brexton items, it has been improvised with other pieces and is as follows the two cups, saucers and plates are Brexton, pattern no. 7668, gilt detail with a pretty floral pattern ..... minor wear to gilt, one plate has a bit of crazing, no chips or cracks and they are in very nice condition there is a white plastic container with screw-on lid, Brexton marked on base, perfectly fine, unsure if it is for milk or what, but this one has wrapped sugar cubes, from what looks like Spanish hotels .... nice little souvenirs .. handy for a picnic : ) the box is blue painted metal has ` Food Box ` in raised print on lid, has surface rust tarnish here and there, the gold colour on lid has worn away, no dents .... hinge works fine, opens & closes as it should .... not marked Brexton but I think this is original. The flask is vintage in a shade of brown, maker is Vacco de Luxe, Made in England, Model VLP, detailed on base with British & Foreign Patents Granted and Pending, also has the maker on the lid of cup ..... Screw on lid with discolour to the end area, cup just fits on, this has a half inch crack on the side .... I think this is not original but am not certain, it was with the set. Two bone handled knives, marked Stainless Steel, Thomas Turner & Co. Sheffield England..... these have no damage just look vintage One cute small little knife, partially serrated at the top, with tortoise-shell handle, marked Stainless England ... looks vintage One fork with a pattern at end of handle marked Stainless Steel One original fork marked Brexton Chrome Plate England, looks vintagey A vintagey cotton checked patterned small cotton table-cloth which was wrapped around the cups, no maker details on there, don`t know if it was original ... in vintage condition but no holes. The metal chain attached to the lid and the one side of basket has tarnish, rust, looks vintage but is still firmly attached and does the job as it should The board on lid is still firmly attached, the Brexton label has a bit of wear at the one corner but it clearly shows who the maker is Leather straps for holding the plates and saucers are still firmly attached and the popper works well & as it should, cutler holders are fine too. The opening & closing leather strap has wearage, is intact, metal buckle has rust but all works fine The metal parts holding the handle are rusty but fixed fast The handle is firm plastic and this is fine. No damage to the wicker basket, may be just a little bit dusty, but is all very firm and nice. Basket is approx = 13 1/2 ins long x 10 1/2 ins wide x 7 ins tall Deliciously vintage British but not complete Brexton ... could be an enjoyable challenge to find the original pieces, which often do come up on ebay, at car boot sales, charity shops etc. Courier with tracking to Mainland UK .... at a cost of £5.75 The Highlands of Scotland & UK Islands including the Channel Islands & Ireland, PLEASE CONTACT for costs, as it varies on the post-codes to find a suitable courier Courier to France, Germany, Netherlands is £20.00 GBP, with Tracking info To the rest of the world it is just too expensive, sorry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please read all parts of listing before considering a bid including the postage costs.
