West Bend chrome plated Penguin ice bucket or hot cold server. It has a shiny chrome finish and brown speckled Bakelite handles and Finial. It measures 10 handle to handle and is about 8 to the top of the finial. This deco design was enormously popular at mid-century and is equally popular with retro fans now. It is designed for keeping foods either hot or cold and is frequently used as an ice bucket. The bottom is stamped: "WEST BEND Penguin HOT & COLD SERVER" and "A PRODUCT OF WEST BEND ALUMINUM CO. WEST BEND, WIS., U.S.A.". PATENT NO. 2,349,099, which dates the production to 1944
