Rare and hard to find vintage, original Fan Arm Chair, known as "The Batista Chair". Batista was a Cuban dictator before Castro. There is a famous photo taken pre-World War II that shows Batista in Cuba dancing next to a chair of the same design. Photo can be seen on the front cover and inside the Shiffer book "Rattan". Almost, one of a kind, as seen in several movies over the last 70 years. Unique, rare, how do I describe this mid-century modern rattan, nine band, stacked and wrapped, fan arm chair? How about"spectacular", and any top collector would have to consider this chair for aquisition as it would be the defining piece in a superior collection. Cushions are not the original spring variety as no one in their right mind would want to perch on springs and felt when high density foam and feathers would be so much better, my choice for new custom cushions. Existing cushions "asis". Don't forget to check "other items by this dealer", RimRam. Also if you load $2000 or more of merchandise from this dealer into your shopping cart be sure to ask for your "gift with purchase", it could be worth as much as $500.
