Offered is a rare piece of cinema and Star Wars history. Before changing his mind, George Lucas initially intended the 3rd installment of the original Star Wars trilogy to be entitled REVENGE of the Jedi. After deciding that Jedi's do not seek revenge, Lucas changed the title to Return of the Jedi.Trailers had already been released to theaters around the country and quickly recalled. This is one of those originally released trailers. Provided in the photographs is a reference chart of Eastman Kodak date codes. The date codes show a 1982 production date as appropriate for this trailer.It has begun to show the signs of aging and color fading due to its age. There is some evidence of possible exposure to moisture.
