...pocket-worn & slightly bent,uneven planchet, with what appears to be teeth marks from a quality test (see final picture)...dated 1782...stamped " G W "... no doubt as to who was the most popular "GW" in America in this era...appears to be a silversmith, or tinker's type of strike... ...difficult to photograph, but the coin's surface patina is natural aging, a little darker & smoother than the magnified pics show, with worn surfaces... ...the counterstamp is rather deep, sitting just below the coins surface, & shows signs of contact wear, as does the surface...however, because of it's deep stamping, the details remain strong... ...these coins circulated widely in America during our Revolutionary era & on into the 1850's... ...this unique coin was pocketed, traded, & appreciated in it's day...a nice peice of our history... ...I have had this coin in my collection since 1999, & I guarantee it's authenticity... ...money back if not as pictured & described..history & ...
