*NOTE* ALL ARTIFACTS ARE LEGALLY EXCAVATED ON PRIVATELY OWNED PROPERTY. This is a Revolutionary War American (.69 calibre) musket ball that was excavated at Monmouth, New Jersey. Many of the musket balls used in this battle were casted over the winter months at Valley Forge as this one probably was. This artifact was excavated on PRIVATE property and has been in my collection for nearly 25 years. The Battle of Monmouth occured on June 28, 1778 and was the first major engagement for the American troops after their long winter encampment at Valley Forge. T wasn't a clear victor of the battle as it was pretty much a draw but of interest was the court martial and relief of command of Charles Lee after the battle as well as the legend of "Molly Pitcher". The fighting was done in the intense heat of a summer day and many soldiers died from heatstroke. Monmouth was also the last major northern campaign as the war shifted south. Legitimate artifacts from Monmouth are scarce. A super opportunity to preserve history from one of the largest and most studied battles of the American Revolution. Guaranteed 100% genuine and as represented. High bidder to include $5.50 for priority shipping/delivery confirmation and prompt payment is appreciated. Thank you and good luck
