This is a Rex Aragon archtop guitar made by Harmony in the 1940sI bought this guitar and case in its present condition about 10 years ago with the intention ofrestoring it, Time and arthritis have convinced me that I will never get round to it so I hope someone will restore it to its former glory. There are plenty of pictures of original Rex Aragons on the web.The top is carved solid spruce, back, sides and neck are maple I think - it has been stripped butwhoever did it at least left the headstock alone. The neck pocket is clean, there are two fine cracks in the shoulders which appear to have been glued tight. The neck is in good shape apart from a crack in the heel.Finger board and frets show some wear but perfectly playableThe heel has been pegged, presumeably in an attempt to fix the crack. It will need to be drilled out and reglued. The tuning machines are original, two have had modern buttons fitted. I have two contemporary machines with similarbuttons (though a bit cleaner)The tailpiece is original. So, apart from the heel, a clean-up and refinish to get one of the last Harmony-made solid-top archtops. The case is original and showing its age, rust on all the fittings, handle missing, tatty and battered covering. It will give protection to the guitar when sent by courier but will need some work to restore it.Carriage costs will be read more
