EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PLAQUE.
The British Police contingent were attached to the Commonwealth Monitoring Force for the 1980 elections. One British Bobby was assigned to each polling booth. It was quite a sight to behold - a British Bobby under the hot African sun, supposedly monitoring the fairness of the elections. They didn't have a clue what was going on under their noses!
This plaque commemorates one of those only once in history events, never to be repeated again (thank goodness).
