This lot contains a rich deep cobalt blue poison bottle with original Black Disinfectant label from Carl A. Schmidt of Dayton Ohio. This is an early bottle because Black Disinfectant was later sold in dark amber bottles. Nice skull and crossbone markingsm with the antidote listing to include alcohol and whiskey. Bottle measures 7 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Near mint with no chips or cracks. Nice attic find. Minor residue inside from previous contents. Empty. Black Disinfectant was a household or general use disinfectant made from tar acids that turned water white when diluted for use. Fantastic display bottle with original label.
