Up for auction is a collection of President Richard Nixon - NBC - White House - Paul Keyes items. These items are part of the Paul Keyes collection, were all together in the collection, and tfore we are selling them all together. These items are as follows: (1) Two almost identical 10 1/2 inch x 13 5/8 inch black and white photographs of President Nixon and Paul Keyes on a yacht. These two photographs were in a 12 inch x 15 1/2 inch NBC envelope bearing the Burbank, California, return address. The NBC envelope in which these photographs were enclosed has written in hand: "Large pix on Mogo". Pehaps "Mogo" is the name of the yacht. These two photographs are almost identical except that one appears to be slightly more of a close-up than the other. (2) One color photograph of Paul Keyes and others in a very formal and elegant room, perhaps at the White House for a function involving music as musical instruments can be seen in the lower left hand corner of the photo. This photograph measures 10 1/2 inches x 13 1/2 inches and has written on the reverse side in black ink the following: "E651-21A 17 Apr 73" This photograph was in a 12 inch x 15 1/2 inch NBC envelope bearing the Burbank, California, return address. (3) Four different groupings of beautifully, deeply embossed heavy White House wrapping paper. We can see why Paul Keyes would keep this grouping of papers as they are absolutely stunning. The first grouping has a beautiful golden White House Presidential seal with gold and white ribbon. Attached to this grouping is a 3 inch x 4 1/8 inch envelope bearing the return address in black embossed ink which reads: " THE WHITE HOUSE ". Inside the envelope is a 2 1/4 inch x 3 13/16 inch card which reads in black raised ink: " THE PRESIDENT ". The second grouping is the same type of paper as the first and bears the golden White House Presidential seal. The third and fourth groupings are of the same material as the first two but do not bear the Presidential seal. We believe these papers were the wrappings for gifts given to Paul Keyes from President Nixon. All of these papers were in a 12 inch x 15 1/2 inch NBC envelope bearing the Burbank, California, return address. Paul Keyes was a television writer and producer whose credits include some of the great hits of the 1950's and 1960's: the Jack Paar Show, the Dean Martin Show, and Rowan and Martin Laugh-In, among others. Keyes was nominated for ten Emmy Awards and won three. In 1994 Keyes was inducted into the Producers Guild of America Hall of Fame. Keyes is remembered for watching the election returns with President Nixon in 1968 and being the first person ever to refer to President Nixon as "Mr. President" immediately after the returns were in. Keyes was keenly interested in politics and was an advisor to Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush. Keyes was very instrumental to these Presidents for the purposes of writing speeches, providing advice, and acting as a liaison to the Hollywood stars. Paul Keyes died on January 2, 2004, and remained close to President Nixon until President Nixon's death on April 2, 1994 . We acquired much of the political memorbilia from the estate of Paul Keyes shortly after his death and these items were included in that collection. We offer an unconditional money-back guarantee as to the authenticity and condition of this item. These items hav been a part of our private collection since their acquistion.
