Action Racing Collectibles 1/24 scale diecast metal collectible of #43 STP sponsored 1980 Chevy Monte Carlo raced by Richard Petty. In July 2003 a milestone was achieved when a Chevy won a NASCAR Winston Cup race for the 400th time. To honor this achievement, Action Racing Collectibles produced special color chrome versions of the historical cars that won the 100th, 200th, 300th and 400th for Chevrolet. Richard Petty raced this car to Chevy's 100th victory on May 10, 1980 at Nashville Speedway. It was produced for the first time by Action in 2004 so it has the detail, finish, and quality of today's modern diecast collectibles. It is a rare color chrome version which is done by a special plating and polishing process to produce a brilliant blue mirror-like metallic finish then the racing graphics are painted over the finish to produce a beautiful collectible that would be the centerpiece of any collection. It is a very limited edition of only 4428 cars produced. It has great detail including an opening hood and trunk with a detailed engine and interior. It has that timelessly classic Monte Carlo body style with the hood that seems to just go on to forever and the muscular hips over the rear wheels. It's a must have for every Richard Petty collection. No collection is complete without the famous Petty blue and red #43 STP car and this rare color chrome version makes it even more special.
