This is a Diamond Jubilee Medallion designed by Julian H. Harris to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Rich's Department Store in Atlanta Georgia. Julian Harris was an Atlanta native who was commissioned to honor Morris, Emanuel and Daniel Rich, the three brothers who founded Rich's Department Store in 1867. The Medallion has an eagle holding flags that reads Friendship Honor Service. The other side has a depiction of the Department Store with the following statement: A Southern Institution Morris, Emanuel and Daniel Rich Founders. The edges read Commemorating the Seventy fifth Anniversary Of Rich's Inc. Also the dates 1867 and 1942. It is a beautiful piece and is in mint condition in it's original box with another box to protect it. It also has a small pamphlet that talks about the anniversary and the artist. It is in good condition. The inside lid of the presentation box says Medallic Art Co. New York. The outside box says Bronze Medal Sample and the artists name Harris. I do not know if it is actually Bronze or the original sample. It is a gorgeous piece that measures 2 1/4" around and has a great Art Deco look! Thanks for looking!
