Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, West Virginia 2 Gallon Jar Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, America's Source for Antique Stoneware , is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ." Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890. (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 100). Dating around 1880, this beauty features the Company Name and Address Framing a Fancy Floral, with the Capacity Number Above . Stands 12" tall. Excellent Condition. Two minor 1/4" chips at the base, and a couple spots of light staining from use. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some extra salt on the bottom from from the making.
