For auction 5 wonderful pieces of antique flow blue from three different potteries. First is a nice flow blue sauce dish with the back stamp of J & G Meakin, circa 1890-1907. This little sweetheart measures 5 4/8" across and stands 1" tall. A pretty vine with bell-shaped flowers is found just within a ¼" wide border of dark flow blue. Although it does have an under rim chip (1/4" x 1/8") and a 1 ¼" extremely fine crack that is nearly lost in the all-over fine crazing, it is still a sweet piece of flow blue that displays very nicely. Secondly two adorable flow blue demitasse underplates made by Ridgeways in their Oriental pattern, circa 1891-1920. Each sweet little plate measures 4 ½" across. The flow blue pattern on one is a bit fuzzier than the other, but they are undeniably the same pattern. They would be wonderful used as an underplate for an egg cup, used for canapés, coasters, or of course used with a demitasse cup. One does have just a flake of a chip on the underside rim that is absolutely not visible from the front side; and the other has some crazing. Other than that they are in wonderful condition. Thirdly two lovely 6" saucers in the Watteau pattern with a crowned, circle within circle hallmark and the words Staffordshire England. The registry number, also printed on the underside, is 555592 and dates these pieces to about 1910. Other than having the expected, charming all-over fine crazing, they are in EXCELLENT condition with no chips or cracks. All 5 pieces combine to make a wonderful display. They would provide a fine start for a new collector or just be lovely little treasures for the seasoned collector.
