Riley special convertible reg no JCY 367 This car is one of 8 produced by the late Colin Readey, Riley afficionado and engineer, based on the Reinbolt and Christie design of Riley drophead. It comes with a current V5 with registration number JCY 367. It is obviously a restoration project. It is currently stored in a barn in the south of France. I have documentation from Colin that details the history of the car in his ownership. I know little about Rileys and am selling the car for a friend and cannot vouch for how complete it is. The car is rolls freely but will need to be trailered away. The following is a quote from a letter from Colin that comes with the car: ' The drophead is one of 8 we produced. The chassis has been overhauled and painted, the engine overhauled, the gearbox checked. The body is finger tight on the chassis, and not set up on its rubber mounts, it is virtually complete except for the mid section of the passenger door, the NEW ash frame is all in place except for the interior trim panels which are of course loose. Wings running boards, bonnet and sides are loose fitted in primer and seem in good order .' The car has been dry stored but the above was written over 10 years ago and I would imagine all the mechanicals will need checking. The bodywork looks to be in reasonable condition but is only in primer. read more
