Up for auction is an unused postcard or Rimmy Jim's, or Rimmy Jims store & gas station on Route 66 at Meteor Crator Junction in Arizona. Located 20 miles west of Winslow, AZ, this place was well know for it's eccentric owner Jim Giddings. Giddings, who ran the store from the 1930's to the 1940's, supposedly got the nickname Rimmy from the type of saddle he used and was not fond of traveling salesmen who overstayed their welcome or anybody who went behind his counter and made those feelings abundantly clear, including postings signs to the effect. This postcard is clean and unused with only the slightest wear on each corner. 04.08.031
