Rivera's Flower Garden Plume Agate Mexico Rivera's Flower Garden Plume Agate was mined for only a short time in the 1970's and is tough to find today. I bought mine direct from the miner, Mr. Rivera and this is a slab of one of only a couple of pieces of rough left from 30 years ago. This is an attractive agate with yellow, red and white plumes, or flames swirling in clear agate with swirls of pink/mauve opaque agate. It is quite unique among Mexican agates. This slab is 4 1/2 inches by 2 1/4th inches by 3/16ths inch thick and is structurally sound. T are several very small natural vugs as you can see in the photos, but these may easily be cut around or sealed with a filler like Opticon, if you want to cut cabochons. This agate easily takes a high polish. It will make a beautiful specimen polished off- "as is"- or will provide gem material for several outstanding cabochons. Flower Garden Agate is a very scarce item today and most Mexican agate collections lack an example of this fine agate.Photos taken wet in sunlight. This is an auction with no reserve.
