This auction is for a Deck Chair from the original RMS Queen Mary. It is in super nice condition, especially, considering its age. The deck chair was never damaged, or painted. It has its original brass fittings all around. It is nicely aged, all intact, and quite solid. All deck chairs were removed prior to her arriving at Long Beach California, and were sold in the 1970's as a souvenir of the Queen Mary. On the top of the chair is a small brass plaque that reads "RMS Queen Mary", these plaques were added after by the original seller of the chairs in 1967-68. Underneath the chair is printed the word "CUNARD", the letter "D" is weak, I did not want to alter it at all to darken it. The print is kind of embossed into the chair. I have had it for a number of years, it has been displayed in my home. Due to remodeling in my home, t is no longer room for it. It is certainly solid enough to use, or display, or both. The wood is in really nice condition. I have only hand rubbed in some teak oil some years ago to keep the hardwood conditioned. If it needs to be stored it folds up nicely.
