Fresh from a local estate on a buying trip I aquired a most lovely collection of pincushion dolls AND DRIP CATCHERS This auction is for one of part of a collection that we have up for auction on ebay. The original appeal of the ultrafeminine half-figures, known today as "pincushions", though many were intended for uses other than pincushion tops, must have been overwhelming. None classify as dolls, yet they appear in doll collections as well as collections of figurines and fine china. Since they require no special stands or cases, and wash like china cups, these little ladies of the past make a rewarding hobby for the collector with limited space for display. The "pincushions" or half dolls pictured will show you what makes these unusual ones such prizes to be won. Listed are 4 German porcelain pincushion exotic doll birds that are very hard to come accross from the Roaring 1920's. Beautifully hand-painted and good and old. Take notice to the nice quality that these little beauties have. From their true to life beaks to their fine winged feathers and eyes, they are quite a desired collectable. These lovely birds are quite gorgeous, just like our others in auction and show such vibrant colors throughout. With the exotic cave-stone black accents and deep carribean blues to the lemony yellows and guava greens and reds, these are truly a magnificent find. German. Again, this is a part of a collection. If you are into pincushion dolls or just the unusual, these fall right into place for you. Overall condition is excellent .
