Born in Liverpool and brought up in Aberdeenshire he studied at the Edinburgh college of Art. Taught at Grays School of Art. Head of Fine Art at Chichester University. Taught Oxford Brookes University and Edinburgh College of Art. Won the prestigious RSA Guthrie Medal. Many successful one man exhibitions throughout the UK including The Scottish Gallery, Bohun Gallery, Richmond. Thr Tackeray Gallery and many other. Has shown at most major venues including The Royal Scottish Artist, RGI and many others. He is a figurative painter with his own visual vocabulary taken from his own personal experiences. This a a fine example of his work, framed 15.75" x 14" ( 40 x 35 cm ). Image 9.05" x 7" ( 23 x 18 cm ) approx with original Scottish Gallery label on the back.
