BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE PICTURE. Very PRETTY and QUAINT. This is another of my Paternal GREAT-GRANDFATHER'S pieces. He was a SCOTTSMAN born in DUNFERMLINE SCOTLAND, emmigrated to this country and lived to be 100, outliving 3 wives. He said this was a ROBERT BURNS Blessing. Picture has a SCOTTISH Couple sitting at the TABLE to EAT. This is called SELKIRK GRACE, the BLESSING reads, "Some ha'e meat that canna eat, An' some wad eat that want it, But we ha'e meat, and' we can eat So let the Lord be thankit." This is done in CALLIGRAFY. The FANCY frame is BLACK WOOD, with LITTLE CHURCH window SHAPED arches, can send you closeups of frame, just ask. Back has CARDBOARD with a few nails and tape, it could stand a few more nails to hold the picture flat. I put the tape on when it was given to me to keep the dust out after I cleaned the inside glass. T is just the one mat and it is taped to the back of the picture, I saw no signatures or such. This is the same FRAME that it was in when it was given to my DAD & MOM I was just a KID, I am now 68. Measures 17 3/4" x 10 3/4", and frame is almost 3/4" wide. T is WIRE in Screw Eyes on the back for hanging. This is NOW at least 100 or more years old. We are DOWNSZING and some things MUST GO, it's needs a GOOD HOME. If you want it insured can give you correct amount when I know final price.
