This scintillating vintage necklace and earrings set was made by Robert. The set incorporates smoky bicone cut crystal and aurora borealis bell crystal beads (both, most likely, Austrian Swarovski) and irregular textured molded oval beads with indented honeycomb patterns. All the larger beads are separated by tiny clear seed beads. The necklace has four graduated strands, the shortest is 12", the longest is 14". The unusual twisted silver-plated ribbed metal clasp adds about 3 ¼" to this length, plus the extension allows you to wear the necklace at an additional 3" longer (total of 20"). The clasp has 6 highly reflective aurora borealis rhinestones set on each half. The matching earrings are 1" in diameter and feature the clustered, hand-wired style for which both Robert and Miriam Haskell were famous. Each is centered with 3 crystal bell beads and surrounded by a wreath of the molded ovals. The back is two silver-plated filigree medallions. The comfortable clips have clear plastic inserts at the top and are stamped "Robert."The set is in excellent condition and appears never worn. I believe the oval beads may be high-quality plastic as the necklace is not extremely heavy. The original hook clasp was missing but this replacement is a perfect match.
