Listed for a friend, a rare and complete set of 40 photolithograghs with descriptions. A History of Pharmacy In Pictures Presented by Parke, Davis & Company. In the 1940's, Robert A. Thom, called the Norman Rockwell of Medical Artist/Illustrators, was commissioned by Parke Davis & Co. to paint these 40 as well as a set of 46 History of Medicine in pictures. The paintings were then reproduced as photolithograghs and given away in the early 60's as promotional tools. You can find incomplete sets of 1-6 or individual lithograghs, but complete sets are becoming harder to find. I have seen individual framed pictures for sale at $250.00. Complete sets such as this have sold on eBay for over $400.00. One exceptional set sold a few years ago for well over $800.00. All 40 prints and descriptions in this set are in very good condition. The original envelope has damage from 50 plus years of storage. Please see photo. This is common because the envelopes wear and crack over the years if handled. This set would make an excellent Holiday gift for your Phamacist, Pharm-D, or Pharmcacy Technician. I know because I have 3 sets of my own that are not for sale. The reserve is very reasonable.
