Most tape Recorders do not work unless they have been fully serviced, We know this because we service and repair tape recorders all day long and have been doing so for the past 30 years. Most tape recorders sold on eBay are not serviced, They are merely bought by garage and estate sale shoppers then tossed out on eBay to try and make a fast buck. They know absolutely nothing about tape recorders Beware of recorders that have not been tested, Not guaranteed to work, Or sold AS-IS, 90% Chance it doesn't work. Click on this link to see all of our current auctions This Roberts combination reel to reel tape recorder & 8 track tape cartridge player & recorder is guaranteed to be in perfect working condition, and it has just been serviced by us. We specialize in rebuilding vintage tape recorders. This machine has been completely gone through from top to bottom. It has been cleaned, lubed, & any necessary adjustments have been made.  We also replace any necessary parts, Be;ts, Noisy transistors THE WORKS! (We do it all). It has all 3 Speeds 1 7/8, 3 3/4, and 7 1/2 ips. This machine uses standard 1/4" tape, and records and plays back in 1/4" track mono and stereo, which means you can flip the reels over and play the other side. This will play the small 3" reels of tape all the way up to the larger 7" reels, and it includes the 7" take up reel and reel as seen in the photos. The reel holders are usually missing or no longer hold so we have been using ordinary pencil erasers for the past 20 years which work excellent. This will also record and play the stereo 8 track tape cartridges that were popular in the 1960's and 1970's. This has a built in solid state stereo amplifier and a pair of built in internal speakers located on the sides so t is nothing else needed in order for you to start playing your tapes right away. You can connect this to virtually any type of home stereo system that has either line, auxillary or tape RCA input jacks. This will also connect directly to any standard computer sound card for copying tapes to CD. The back plate has some rust spots on it as seen in the photos. This machine records and plays back with superb frequency response and fidelity.  Please note, all of our items are fully tested. We also service and repair them if necessary to insure that they are in good working condition. We strive to be as descriptive and accurate as we possibly can on their operating condition. We guarantee this item to be as described at the time of delivery or your money back, less the shipping charges both ways, We do not refund shipping charges. Any returns must be received within 7 days from the date of delivery or the money back guarantee will be null and void. Any item that is returned must be in the same condition when it was originally sent by us. Also if an item is returned and found not to be defective, You will be charged a 20% of the final auction price for restocking. We will sell & ship within the United States Only!
