A toy that was released in U.S back in 2002 by California design company 'Toynami', which at that time had teamed up with Robotech license holder Harmony Gold to re-launch this wonderful toyline in addition, making it even better. The volume 1 released was VF-1J based on the Robotech 'The Macross Saga'. The packaging takes the form of a book with in premium masterpiece outlook. Flipped over the book cover and you will see the toy in battroid mode with all accessories displayed (primarily the missiles, rifle, pilot & ladder). In making the toy even more exclusive, the first installation of Masterpiece VF-1J was limited to 15000 pieces (My lucky number is 08581). As claimed by Toynami at that time (before any Yamato's released their 1/60 & 1/48) the most accurate representation of the Veritech fighter aka Valkyrie ever created in three dimension. The toy was crafted from a combination of plastic and die-cast metal. Note the die-cast landing gear with authentic rubber tires. The biggest catch would be the functional LED light in the battroid's visor. At 1/55 scale, the cockpit opens with the pilot removable, as is the pilot's cockpit ladder. This VF-1J is a true transformable, with no parts requiring removal to transform from Fighter to Gerwalk to Battroid.
